To Which Season Do You Belong?

Part I: Spring

So what we are talking today is one of the most popular methods of appearance type classification - by four seasons – Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Nowadays science and medicine progressed as far as giving possibility to change almost anything in his or her appearance, depending how much money one person willing to spend. This particular method is meant more to understand how to highlight person’s natural beauty, to choose an image for everyday life, without going to the surgeons and clinics.

Let’s get straight to business and leave historic facts for another article. That leads us to the first and most difficult question: "How to define which season is mine?..” Why difficult? Well, because there are mostly "mixed” types, "pure” types are not so common. So there supposed to be put priorities for different features. For example, you have "spring type skin”, but "summer” type hair. You can change the colour of your hair easily, but it’s harder with the skin. Such priority could be also hair (if you don’t want to colour them) or eyes, for instance. That is why there is no universal formula. What is left? "Right and wrong answer” method, which sometimes gives absolutely unexpected and stunning results.

Our first season is SPRING, its characteristics and recommendations for makeup and overall image.

Characteristics

Eyes: light blue, grey, green and blue, light green, light brown, brown with golden nuance.

Hair: golden blond, red shades, but not dark ones, brown with golden nuance.

       !!! In childhood "spring” type has yellow hair, but "summer” type – white.

Eyebrows & Eyelashes: red and gold, light brown, usually 1-2 shades darker than hair on her/his head.

Skin: always with golden nuance, colour of an elephant bone or a peach.

      !!! If there are freckles, those are brown ("summer” type has grey ones).

Tan: skin is suntan friendly, gets brown rather fast, tan is always with golden nuances.

Recommendations: Makeup

Main principle: better less than more!!!

   Foundation: transparent, yellow shades are preferable; layers should be very thin; if there are freckles, they should be seen under the foundation; if there are slightly red zones or stains, green camouflage can do the trick.

         !!! Do NOT use foundations of pink shades.

   Blusher: peach colour, salmon colour, during summer months bronze shade powder could be used instead.

         !!! Do NOT use blushers of cold pink or brown shades.

   Eyeshadows: pastel shades, transparent and saturated depending on the colour of the eyes:

   *  Blue eyes – salmon colour, peach colour, beige;

·       *  Green eyes – golden and copper shades, green and all its combinations;

·       *  Brown – violet, green, golden, bluish, warm shade brown, beige shades.

 Eyeliners: grey, light blue, green, light brown, white for the lower eyelid.

     !!! Black eyeliner is NOT recommended.

Mascara: brown, green, blue.

     !!! Blue mascara really fits "spring” type ONLY.

Pencils for eyebrows: light brown (warm shades), brown, golden shades.

Lipstick: peach colour, salmon colour, tomato red, corral, lip gloss looks also good; if red, without blue nuances.

    !!! Dark shades are NOT recommended.

Recommendations: Overall image

Hair colour: natural shades are preferable starting with golden blond to light copper shade. Orange and golden strands also look good. This type is very natural, therefore they will never be "femme fatale”.

         !!! If you want to change your hair colour or shade, it MUST NOT conflict with your skin colour.

Clothes: as basic colours are preferable warm shades of light beige, salmon colour, pinky yellow peach colour and light blue shadows.

Clothes models should be simple, without unnecessary details. More simple the model is, more elegant overall image becomes. Evening dress model also supposed to be rather simple.

Monochromatic fabrics are preferable. If with print then it’s better to choose with small print – small flowers, stripes or dotted.

Jewelry and accessories: gold looks very nice, jewelry should be simple and elegant. It’s not recommended to wear extravagant and too trendy models.

        !!! White Gold and Silver is NOT recommended.

Shoes, bags, gloves and scarves might be of light shades or brown with golden nuances but obligatory warm shades. Evening clutch in golden shades would be perfect choice for "spring” type.

       !!! Catchy lines are not for "Spring” type, but still it’s possible to choose shoes of any rich colour of this type’s list and several accessories to match.

 Most common shades: all "pure”, warm, saturated colours, like bright orange and red colour, lettuce green etc.
